KLRI : KOREA LEGISLATION RESEARCH INSTITUTE

The Korea Legislation Research Institute (President: Ik-Hyeon Rhee) held the Third United Academic Conference under the subject of Post Evaluation of the Framework Act on Consumers and its Amendment Direction at the Third Seminar Room of National Assembly Member's Office Bldg., Seoul on Dec. 3rd.

 

This academic conference was jointly held by Yoon-kyung Jae, National Assembly member, Korea Consumer Law Society, Seoul Bar Association, and Consumer Legislation Committee of the Korea Consumer Rights Forum, prepared to exactly diagnose the Korean consumers laws and find improvement direction.

 

100 relevant experts including Ik-hyeon Rhee, president of the Korea Legislation Research Institute, Yoon-kyung Jae, National Assembly member of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Eun-Young Lee, chairperson of Korea Consumer Rights Forum attended this united academic conference, segmented into 1 and 2 sessions under the sub-subjects of Establishment of Consumer Safety Society and Consumer Damage Relief and Consumer Policies.

 

In Session 1, Byung-Sung Baek, head of the Consumer Research, provided presentation under the subject of Securing Product Safety Measures for Establishment of Consumer Safety Society, followed by the presentation of Seung-Hye Wang, member of the Korea Legislation Research Institute, under the subject of Improvement of Hazard Food Recall System for Securing Consumer Safety.

 

In Session 2, Ung-Jae Byun, Partner Attoney of Yulchon LLC., provided presentation under the subject of Improvement Measures on Prevention of Consumer Damage and its Remedy System under the Framework Act on Consumers, followed by the presentation of Hyung-Seok Ko, professor of Department of Law and Police, Sun Moon University under the subject of Protection of Consumer Right and Consumer Policies, in which You Choi and Won-Kyu Jang, members of the Korea Legislation Research Institute, and Jong-Hee Seo, professor of the Law School, Konkuk University attended as debaters.

 

Meanwhile, the Korea Legislation Research Institute performs research on evaluation of legislation for the purpose of preventing excessive laws and regulations, conducts evaluation of legislation on current laws, regulations and Municipal Ordinances, and holds united academic conferences in which development of theory for evaluating legislation and actual application are discussed.
