KLRI held a Joint International Conference on ALIN

The Korea Legislative Research Institute (President Rhee, Ik Hyeon) held an international ALIN conference at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok on Wednesday, 28, under the theme, “Sustainable Asia, Sustainable World.”
ALIN is a network system established on the aim of the “advancement in inter-understanding and cooperation through exchange of legislative information of Asian countries,” and the KLRI is managing the system as the executive office.
The conference was attended by more than 100 people, including legislative experts from Asian countries. The conference was divided into “Law, Sustainability, and Asian Economy” and “Law, Sustainability, and Asian Social Justice.”There were presentations from experts from 12 countries including Korea, Japan, China and Vietnam.
Prior to the session, Kittipong Kittayarak, President of the Thailand Institute of Justice, and Lee Yong-sik, President of the Law and Development Institute, USA, gave a keynote on the topic of sustainable development.
Presenters and panelists of each session included Dr. Lee Yu-bong, KLRI, Professor Aziz Ismatov of Nagoya University, and Professor Mizanur Rahman, School of Law, Dhaka University, Bangladesh.
KLRI President Rhee, Ik-Hyeon said, “The world is turning to sustainable growth, realizing the severity of problems arising from policies focused solely on economic development. This discussion will contribute to finding an alternative to the paradigm shift to social values.”
