KLRI Held Joint Academic Seminar on the Title, “Development and Prospect of Science and Technology Regulation Act”

The Korea Legislation Research Institute held a joint academic seminar under the title, "Development and Prospect of Science and Technology Regulation Act,"with the office of National Assemblyman Kim Jong-suk, the Korean Regulatory Society, and the Korean Association of Science and Technology Law, on the 25th Friday at the Conrad Hotel in Seoul.
 
This seminar was designed to discuss the direction of the regulatory law related to new technology and new services, focusing on the regulatory law related to science and technology.
 
The seminar began with the opening remarks of Kim Jong-suk of the Liberal Korean Party and the welcome speech of Jeong Myung-woon, Director General of the Korea Legislative Research Institute, followed by presentations and discussions under the topics of "Science and Regulation Law," "Science and Technology Development and Regulatory Exception System," "Technology Innovation and Platform Service Regulation," and "Bio New Industry and Regulation."
 
For the presentation, Lee Jae-hoon, Research Fellow of KLRI, Professor Kye In-kook of Korea University, Dr. Park Yoon-seok Park of Korea Copyright Commission, and Dr. Lee Jinsoo of INI Research attended, along with Choi Yoo, Director of the Office of Korean Unification Law Research of KLRI, Jang Eun-hye, Research Fellow of KLRI, and Lee Sua, Analyst of the Seoul City Council for discussions.
 
KLRI President Kim remarked, "the new technology sector is an area where institutional complexity increases due to regulatory difficulties as well as newly introduced legislation. Therefore, the active attitude of related organizations to find a legal solution is important."
 
Meanwhile, the KLRI is conducting legislative research to resolve regulations in new technology and new industries, such as establishing a preemptive regulatory innovation roadmap to support innovation growth in line with the government's economic paradigm shift.
