KLRI Held a Joint Academic Conference on "Social Values ​​and Law Sociology"

The Korea Legislation Research Institute (President Kim Kye-hong) held a joint conference with the Korean Society for Law and Sociology and the Law Institute at Seoul National University on the subject of "Social Value and Law Sociology." at Woocheon Law School, a graduate school of law at Seoul National University. The conference was designed to identify legal issues for social value and to find ways to resolve them.
 
At the conference, which was attended by 70 jurists and social science experts, there were heated discussions on the topic of social value and social innovation, social value and the role of law, social value and justice, legal sociology methodology, and social value and labor. Professor Kim Jung-oh of Yonsei University, who was the keynote speaker, gave a keynote speech on the past, present, future and social value of forensic sociology.
 
In the following session, Hong Seong-min, KLRI Research Fellow, gave a presentation on "the legislative prospects of the Framework Act on Social Economy and Product Purchase Promotion and Sales Support Act", and Choi Yu-kyong, Research Fellow, gave a presentation on "a study on the plural methodology for the evaluation of social value."In addition, there were several topics for expanding the social value field under the theme of "social value and employment of public institutions" and "labor rights of youth."
 
KLRI President Kim Kye-hong remarked, "Discussion has been actively conducted in the fields of sociology, economics, and management related to social values, but research is insufficient in the field of law."He added, "The KLRI will continue to play an active role as there is a high need for basic legal research to incorporate the concept of social value in the existing legal system."
 
Meanwhile, the Korea Legislation Research Institute is studying the legislation of social value that contributes to the development of public interests and communities such as human rights and safety, consideration for the socially weak, and the coexistence of large corporations and SMEs.
