KLRI held a joint academic conference on the topic of “Public Law for Decentralization”

The Korea Legislation Research Institute (President Kim, Gyehong) held a joint academic conference on December 18 (Fri) at the Grabel Hotel Saroni Hall and Nokome Hall in Jeju, jointly with the Korea Comparative Law Association, the Jeju Special Self-Governing Council, the Council of Governor of the Republic of Korea, and the Institute of Law and Policy, Jeju National University.
 
The conference discussed current and future public issues on important decentralization-related issues, focusing on ▲ Public task of local financial legislation ▲ The meaning of Jeju special self-government and public task ▲ Introduction of autonomous police system and public task.
 
Prior to the start of the session, there was a keynote presentation entitled “The Present and Future of Autonomous Decentralization” by Honorary Chairman Hong Jeong-sun of the Korean Local Government Law Association. In a comprehensive session, Jeon Ju-Yeol, Research Fellow at the Korea Legislation Research Institute, gave a presentation on the topic of “Legal Legislation of Local Finance.”Professor Shin Jung-gyu of Chungbuk National University, Professor Lee Jin-soo of Yeungnam University, and Yoon Tae-woong and Kim Su-yeon, Director of the Governor Governor's Council, discussed the topics on decentralization.
 
Meanwhile, the Korea Legislation Research Institute is studying the legal system of finance in order to effectively support policies for securing financial soundness and safety of the state and local governments.
